Alviso Adobe Community Park Case Study
Alviso Adobe Community Park Pleasanton, CA
Client: City of Pleasanton
Architect: PGA Design
Year Completed: 2009
Contract amount: $4,647,490
We are extremely proud to have built this unique 7 acre park for the City of Pleasanton. Key aspects of the project include the following:
- A complete historic restoration of an existing adobe brick house originally built in 1844
- Construction of a new 3,000 sq ft. building to replicate the old onsite milking barn
- Construction of a new 600 sq ft. building to replicate the old onsite bunkhouse
- Custom curved steel bridge and viewing platform
- Custom rock amphitheater
- Concrete and DG pathways, rock retaining walls, planting and irrigation
- Historical interpretative exhibits
- New parking lot
Most of the wood that was used for the construction of the new bunkhouse, milk barn and perimeter fencing, was custom milled at our in-house milling facility to recreate rough sawn wood as it would have looked when these structures were originally built.
This facility is a reflection of the quality work we perform on every project for every client.
Testimonials from the Alviso Adobe job:
Working with JFC on the Alviso Adobe project was a pleasure. Their attention to detail, quality of work and positive attitude are all exceptional. I recommend JFC without qualification. There was nothing 'standard' about this job. Everything was unique and that seemed to suit JFC just fine – it is obvious that they enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to do the tricky jobs and get satisfaction from doing it right. These guys are passionate about their work.
